A passion for fit
At Attaquer we obsess over fit, comfort and performance when designing our women’s cycling bib shorts because we know these qualities make all the difference. We’ve shaped every individual panel for that famous Attaquer fit; incorporated the high-density stretch and aerodynamic benefits of advanced European fabrics; and created our own proprietary chamois design for outstanding comfort even on the longest rides. No detail has been missed in designing the best women's cycling bib shorts available.
Styles to suit every riding condition
Temperature regulation and breathability is important in all types of weather. We’ve developed various bib short styles for summer, winter and everything in between, including short, ¾ length and full size bib shorts. So whether you’re staying cosy in midwinter enveloped in Super Roubaix fabric, or working up a sweat at the height of summer, you can simply focus on the path ahead.
What is the point of cycling bib shorts
Quality cycling bib shorts offer a number of advantages for the cyclist, including distraction-free riding, muscle support and improved aerodynamics.
Wide, secure bib straps keep fabric from bunching up or tightening around the midsection, letting you power on with full breaths of fresh air. Compressive and breathable fabric improves circulation and protects against chafing. Soft yet secure grippers stop fabric from sliding up your leg mid-cycle, while the multi-zone chamois protects you from saddle soreness and friction. All of this leaves you free to enjoy your ride without restriction.
Is there a difference between male and female cycling bibs?
Because cycling bibs need to be form-fitting to function properly, our bib cycling shorts for women and men have different cuts and fits. Our women’s cycling bib shorts taper more at the waist for a close fit, and feature a wider ergonomically-curved chamois that provides padding in the right places for female anatomy. So, you can choose Attaquer female cycling bibs knowing the fit has been developed with your comfort and performance in mind.
How tight should bib shorts be?
Bib shorts for cycling women are best worn like a second skin with a firm, supportive fit. You can be sure of a good fit when the fabric feels snug and smooth against the body – there will be no bunching or dragging of fabric.
Race fits are often tighter to cut down on drag and optimise blood flow, while a more relaxed fit will probably suit those planning for all-day or casual riding.

What do you wear with cycling bib shorts?
Because of the need for a close fit in bib cycling shorts, women’s cycling kits typically don’t require underwear to be worn underneath. However, an optional cycling base layer for women such as a breathable undershirt can add extra warmth and protection for the chest.
A women’s cycling jersey worn over the top of the bib shorts wicks away moisture and shields the rider against sun and wind. And if the mercury happens to be low, there’s also the option to add a streamlined women’s cycling jacket for a hydrophilic layer against the rain and cold.
Are cycling shorts or bibs better?
This of course comes down to personal preference, though there are a few reasons cyclists prefer to wear bib shorts. The waistband on standard shorts could pull up and restrict breathing when in the riding position, and this can also pull down at the back which leaves the rider exposed to sun and cold. By adding flat, broad straps on the torso in a bib configuration, we eliminate the need for the waistband altogether. The chamois and fabric are kept securely in place and can do what they’re designed to do – protect and support you so you’re perfectly equipped to find your alter ego.
